About
What is the Vision, Goal, and Purpose Statement for R.E.A.C.H. Evangelism Strategies?
Simple: The vision and purpose of this ministry is to engage pastors and church members to carry out the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ, challenging them to “Go to all nations…,” and “proclaim” the gospel message to their lost and non-churched circle of influence (family, friends, work associates, neighbors, etc.), and serve together with a team of like-minded believers who work in conjunction for the same goal of seeing lost people saved! The central goal for R.E.A.C.H. Evangelistic Strategies is to enlist and implement this strategic evangelistic ministry into 10,000+ evangelical churches in the next five years throughout America!

What is REACH?
The word “REACH” is actually an acronym that means, Relational Evangelism And Cultivational Hospitality. This evangelistic strategy utilizes a “team approach,” and implements three basic and proven methods of effective evangelism; intentional, relational, and servant models. Believers learn how to…
- Establish and maintain evangelistic “relationships” with the lost and non-churched by learning how to embrace others with authentic, evangelistic friendships and the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.
- Learn simply methods of sharing a precise Gospel presentation that even a child could understand, including the simple method of one’s testimonial.
- Work with an assigned team of other believers (usually consist of 6 people), performing periodic community acts of hospitality, and hosting monthly outreach socials and fellowships. These systematic acts serve to develop evangelistic encounters with the unchurched, provide genuine opportunities of sharing one’s faith, and show the love of Jesus to a lost world.
- The “Team Approach” helps to build accountability, consistency, support, encouragement, and confidence among all the participants!
Explanation of the training format
R.E.A.C.H. training consists of a person copy for each participant of the REACH: A Team Approach to Evangelism and Assimilation book, a REACH Student Handbook, and an unlimited access to the eight-video training sessions led by Dr. Wilkins. Each session is about 20-30 minutes in length, and can easily be conducted over a weekend format (Friday night/Saturday morning), or a once-a-week schedule (2 sessions per week for 4 weeks). The professional video series is an easy-to-follow guide through the entire strategy. As a special bonus for implementing the strategy in your church, you are granted UNLIMITED access to the video series presentation (Books/Student Manuals sold per participant).
What benefits are there in a “Team Approach” to evangelism?
As a pastor for 42 years, I’ve noticed that most church members are literally terrified of the responsibility and task of soul-winning, especially when they are one-on-one with a non-believer. There are many reasons for the “fear factor” in personal soul-winning, and I discuss several of those in this strategic seminar. Why do I believe the team approach is more successful when it comes to witnessing? Several reasons exist, and again, I will discuss all these benefits in the seminar. However, I’ve discovered that the primary reason team evangelism (or small groups) works effectively is because it takes the undo pressure off of one person to produce all the results!
Before I designed this strategy, I was a frustrated pastor when it came to maintaining an active evangelism ministry in my church. We were growing as a church, and people were getting saved, but we had mediocre (at best) soul-winning participation from the church. At that time our church was hosting a weekly visitation effort, and I would say we had less than 5% churchwide participation at best. But the one thing that our people did extremely well was socialize and fellowship. Bible study groups, Sunday School classes, our Ladies ministry, noticed something wonderful developing throughout all of these groups; they all invited guests, especially non-church members, and unsaved people. Our church family was not intimidated or hindered to bring the lost and non-churched to small group encounters!
That’s when I began to contemplate the idea of small group, or team efforts of evangelism. I thought, “Why not put together a small group of church members to work within that group with the sole purpose of establishing and cultivating meaningful relationships with their lost and non-churched family, friends and neighbors?” Needless to say, that led to the beginning of the REACH Team evangelism strategy! People loved working together, felt at ease with the small group encounter, and actually felt more comfortable sharing the gospel along with can say with complete honesty and confidence, team evangelism works!

Suggested Ordering for Churches:
(based on church average worship attendance)
Your church’s goal should be set at 10-20% participation by your attendees. Be optimistic, but realistic when it comes to church member participation. If you’re averaging 10-20% of your average worship attendance you are achieving a tremendous success!!
That’s why we make the following recommendations…
- 1-150 people in attendance equates to 1-6 teams
- 151-250 people in attendance equates to 7-15 teams
- 251-400 people in attendance equates to 16-30 teams
- 401-600 people in attendance equates to 31-50 teams
